On Sunday 28 June to finish off Deafblind Awareness Week, the Deafblind West Australians group gathered for a pub lunch at the Balmoral Hotel in East Victoria Park. It was quite a rainy day but we had over 15 people including family and supporters of Deafblind West Australia join in on the lunch. One of our members Deborah Kazich did a short presentation (in English) about being deafblind and what Deafblind West Australians do in the community. Deborah even handed around some of her ceramic art work which has a deafblind theme, one with hands as leaves on a tree and the other was a hand with DBWA on it using the ASL sign for Love!
The Balmoral Hotel is located at 901 Albany Highway East Victoria Park.
