Dear Deafblind West Australians and supporters, The Annual General Meeting 2022 for Deafblind West Australians will be held on Saturday 3rd September at The Rise in Maylands.
As part of the Annual General Meeting, there will be elections held on the day for the vacant positions on the Deafblind West Australians Board. Only financial Ordinary members as of 30 June 2022 are eligible to vote on matters at the Annual General Meeting. To be a Board member you must also be a financial (Ordinary or Associate) member.
Non-members, family members, communication guides, sighted guides, support workers, Auslan students, Auslan interpreters and supporters are welcome to attend the Annual General Meeting, but only financial Ordinary member are eligible to vote.
- Ordinary Members are those that have paid their membership fees and are Deafblind or have a dual sensory loss.
- Associate members are those that have paid their membership fee but are not Deafblind or have a dual sensory loss.
The Agenda for the meeting is below.
There will be Auslan Interpreters onsite.

Nominations will be called for the following positions, members to vote if more than one nomination:

• Committee Member (5 positions)
Summary of Responsibilities:
Chairperson: As chairperson your duties will include running the meetings, ensuring meetings run smoothly and that everyone can participate. Representing Deafblind West Australians at external meetings, advocacy, and attend events
Deputy Chairperson: As Deputy Chairperson your role will be to support the Chairperson and complete allocated tasks and functions
Secretary: As secretary you will be required to deal with correspondence, take accurate minutes of meetings, ensure members are invited, Plan the agenda and agenda forwarded and informed of all upcoming events and activities
Treasurer: As treasurer you will required to manage figures, money and accounts as required and provide financial reports
Event coordinator: Research and plan group events, promote on social media
Membership Officer: you will be responsible for Membership Applications, keeping spreadsheet up to date, let the board know of new memberships, email receipts when the Treasurer has confirmed payment, follow up on outstanding memberships.
Committee Member: Attend Board meeting and contribute to the growth of the DBWA group
